The End of Your World
THE END OF YOUR WORLD
"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." (Gal. 6:14)
Coming to Christ brings everything to a complete End. That is what the cross was all about: the END of your world. We usually think of coming to Christ as coming into a New Life and a New beginning...and it is...but it is a New Beginning that brings a perfect end to all you used to be and all that comprised the world of the ego. Before resurrection is the perfect termination of the cross.
Beloved, when your life awakens inside of Christ, there is a very real death to all you used to be in the world. Your allegiance is no longer to the opinion, approval or permission of others. There is only One, Who is now a part of you, Who securely holds your identification with value and identity. There is no longer a need to pursue life through the faulty lenses of the world’s ways, concepts, cultures, philosophies or religions. Christ terminates all things in replacement of His own Life as your source of living. You now own, in Him, a perfect life in need of nothing but celebration, expression and enjoyment.
Christ is the perfect platform to begin each new year, new month, new week and new day. His reality stands between you and your past. The Light of His Presence is flung across the year to come, the radiance of the Sun of Righteousness, preparing grace for your soul to rise up and grow out of the rich soil of His perfect acceptance, security and love. And backward, over the past year, is the Shadow of His cross thrown, burying all your trouble, failures, sorrow and disappointment.
When you come to Christ, you observe your own Truth in the face of Him Whose incarnation was actually the appearance of your life from the heart of God. It is a life not to try to emulate, imitate or evaluate, but a Life you were called into, to participate.
Beloved, Christ brings a glorious end to human efforts at change. He has now become the definition and standard of your life. Your ego has become unemployed. There are no resolutions needed, no plans to put together, no self-improvements to make at change: only accepting the faith that Christ has when He made you participate in His own condition before the Father.
As another year arrives people begin to reconsider their life purpose. Resolutions are made, goals are set and we resolve to get "on purpose". But have you ever stopped to consider beloved, that the one searching for the goal, the one trying to find purpose and the one developing a strategy has already been made, by Christ, the goal, the purpose and the path you are looking for?
What if life...your life, beloved...already came with the perfect plan, the perfect purpose and the perfect unfolding of what should be, encoded in your spiritual DNA from the moment of birth? What if, right now, your life was already joined to a Perfect Life, with a Perfect Condition and a Perfect outcome? What resolution then would be needed to improve this status? What if there is no goal to attain, only allowing Him to be; no purpose except what unfolds from Him in this moment; no agenda to impose, because awareness of Him alone was the only happy agenda of the universe?
What if all you need to be, do and accomplish was already done and an aimless walk along a shoreline, in this moment, inhaling the fresh air, hearing the lapping of the tide while the seagulls songs highlighting a sunset, had more "purpose" in it than all the egos plans at controlling how life in this world should turn out?
Beloved, have you ever stopped to consider that most of our New Year’s resolutions and plans are just scripting the ego has learned from culture, society, religion, consumerism and personal insecurities? It’s the egos job to keep you distracted from the truth of your complete perfection in Christ in this moment, because without the search for meaning, the pursuit of future goals and the quest for improvement and betterment in human efforts, the ego would be unemployed. You might just wake up out of the lies of fear and control and discover you already are, by grace, what you have spent your whole life searching for and trying to attain.
The cross has perfectly given you an end to your egos world, beloved.
The ego needs a reason to live; but your spirit is LIFE ITSELF in Christ and is its own reason to be. Because of Christ, your spirit is life itself (Rom 8:10) and needs nothing to attain, nowhere to go and no set plan to adhere to in order to chisel out a desired state of perfection. Your spirit IS life; its path IS awareness; its goal IS experiencing its true nature in life as it unfolds. Nothing more is needed.
When your mind is without a reason, a purpose, a position or an agenda to impose upon life, the ego becomes frightened because then its world is over, and life just lives itself and moves from itself in a totally different dimension. Who would have thought, beloved, that your Life can actually manage itself quite perfectly without the need of control or imposed agendas!
Beloved, you don't need New Year’s resolutions. You already are, in Christ, what you want to be. It’s a matter of faith not self-efforts. As soon as the ego pulls out an agenda of ideas and decides what needs to change, what needs to be improved or pursued, that unreality creates a tension that blocks the spontaneous flow of Life from God. Life doesn't need the egos intellectual construction of what is right or wrong to unfold. Life doesn't need to know the "right" way to go because it's already perfect and its going there anyway. When you rest in the life of Christ in your spirit, you begin to adhere to a place of composure and spontaneity that frees the mind from over analysis and stringent planning. The minds usefulness is now occupied in following your spirits awareness of Life instead of imposing or sustaining an intricately fabricated house of cards.
This awareness of the Life of Christ in your spirit is all the purpose, resolution and outcome you need for your year beloved. This Life in you is the movement, activity, purpose and the goal of God in this moment -- unfolding without need of the egos contrived agendas. Beloved, God's life in you has got you covered for whatever you are doing and wherever you are going into this New Year.
Beloved, you are not waiting to write your future; it has already been inscribed in your spirit within the Story of Christ. You destiny and outcome is irrevocably tied to His, no matter what the path your earthly life takes. When your world ended at the cross; His world in you began its perennial bloom in your spirit.
Beloved, your life story already has His "happily-ever-after" conclusion. It was written at the cross before you ever got here. Bury there every fear of the future, of poverty, of suffering, of loss. Bury all thought of unkindness and bitterness, all your dislikes, your resentments, your sense of failure, your disappointment in others and in yourself, your gloom, your dependency, and leave them all, buried, and go forward in a New and risen life.
